Report to Governor due July 15, 2012.

In November 2011, the Governor established the Maryland Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Commission, also known as Maryland's Virginia L. Jones Commission on Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders (Executive Order 01.01.2011.21).

The Commission is to inform the Governor, the executive departments, and the General Assembly on sources of data concerning Alzheimer's disease and related disorders, and on coordinating resources to assist afflicted individuals and their families. Further, the Commission is to increase public awareness about Alzheimer's disease and related disorders, including health care decision making and options through the stages of the disease, particularly in minority and underserved communities.

By July 15, 2012, the Commission is to submit to the Governor a comprehensive evaluation of Alzheimer's disease and related disorders in the State, with recommendations on how Maryland can meet the needs of persons with Alzheimer's, their families, and their caregivers.
